This week the Flourishes design team is focusing on the Inkssentials White Opaque Pen. Who better to lead the team than Faith, the queen of the white gel pen! Faith has a fantastic tutorial over on the Flourishes Newsletter.
For my sample, I used the Summer Botanicals stamp set and simply added small accents to the flower center and one of the leaves. This emphasizes the light and shadow on the focal image. I inked up on stamp with regular dye markers and stamped onto European Watercolor Paper. Next I used a water brush to blend the color and add more color to create shadows. I love using this technique with solid image stamps...really makes them come to life. :)
I also did some faux stitching on my Labels Four Nestability layer. It makes an elegant frame for the focal image, don't you think?
Here's the full recipe:
Stamps: Summer Botanicals, Strawberries (sentiment)
Papers: Dusty Durango, Classic Ivory, Soft Suede, European Watercolor, Memory Box Fernbrae Designer Paper
Inks: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Tim Holtz Linen Distress Ink
Accessories: Labels Four Nestabilities, Petite Oval Nestabilites, Water Brush, Inkssentials White Opaque Pen, Brown Scalloped Satin Ribbon, Copper Finishing Touches Ribbon Slides, Sponge Dauber, Orange Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Check out what the rest of the team did with their white gel pens!
