Are you up for another patriotic card? This is one of the cards I made to send my daughter while she's at camp this week. She'll get this one today. I know she's only gone a week; but getting "mail" at camp is kind of a big deal. So we're making sure she gets plenty!
That awesome image is from the My Favorite Things à la modes Firecracker stamp set, as is the sentiment. The sentiments in this set really allow you to use it for lots of occasions...definitely doesn't have to be patriotic!
I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and die-cut it with one of MFT's newest Die-Namics STAX, Designer Labels 2. The scalloped border along the bottom of the card was made with the Little Open Scallop Strip Die-Namics. I added a bit of red and white braided trim, some cute star trinket pins, and a cool star Cuttlebug Foler to really add to the patriotic feel of the card.
The sketch is this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch. I colored the image with the following Copic markers:
*reds - R22, R24, R27, R29
*blues - B00, B02, B04
*golds - Y32, Y35, Y38, Y26, Y28
*skin - E00, E02, E11
*ground - W0, W1, W3
*base of shoes - E40, E42
I thought it would be fun to give her outfit some matching stripes and polka dots. She is ready for the 4th of July festivities for sure!
I also used the Copic Air Brush System and B02 Copic Marker to air-brush the background behind the image.
Here's wishing all of my fellow Americans a VERY happy Independence Day....and the rest of you a VERY happy day as well! God bless each and every one of you!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
~Cindy
