Welcome to day two of MFT's November teasers! Today, the design team is showcasing Laina Lamb's Journal It - Calendar Basics and Document It - Days and Dates sets.
The card is 5-1/2" square with a Kraft cardstock base, a layer of Wild Cherry cardstock, and a layer of Jellybean Green cardstock. On the Jellybean Green layer, I swiped some white pigment ink, TIm Holtz Walnut Stain ink, and Jellybean Green ink down the cardstock, giving it a wood-grain effect. The little notebook and calendar pages were stamped on X-Press It Blending Card, and antiqued with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.
The ribbon is Wild Cherry Grosgrain Ribbon. I added a Wild Cherry button to the center of that gorgeous poinsettia, as well as a couple of red metal brads to the top right corner of the card.
This was SUCH a fun card to make! I do so much coloring that I'd forgotten just how much fun it can be to focus on die-cuts and composition.

I used Lisa Johnson's Darling Dots set to creat the white polka dot border, and added a left-over strip of Jellybean Green cardstock to the edge. The sentiment is from Lisa's Stitched Stockings set, and is stamped with WIld Cherry and Jellybean Green ink.
