Today I have a card made with a sweet little stamp set from My Favorite Things, called Precious Little Lamb Upon a Star. He is, indeed, precious!
I chose this stamp set in part because I love it, and also because it is from MFT's Pure Innocence line. You see, the PI's were the very first thing I fell in love with from MFT; so I thought it only fitting that I use one on the day I announce that I have joined the MFT design team. Say what?! Yes, you read that right... I am SO EXCITED to be a part of such a wonderful team, and representing a truly INCREDIBLE company! I could not be happier! :-)
Now, about that card...
The patterned papers are from Echo Park's Very Merry Christmas 6x6 pad. I stamped the image on X-Press It Blending Card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored the image in with the following Copic markers:
*sky - B93/B95
*lamb's wool - E50/E53/W1/W3/W5 & R21 for cheeks (tip-to-tip with Colorless Blender)
*sweater - G21/YG63/YG67
*corduroy pants - E33/E35/E37/E49
*scarf - E25/E49/R24/R27
The texture in the sky and on the snow was made with Copic's Opaque White paint...love that stuff!
I cut out the little star, and popped it up with dimensionals. I then added a bit of sparkle with a Sakura Stardust Clear Gellyroll Pen.
Here's a detail shot of the lamb:
You can really see all the textures in this shot! In yesterday's post, I talked to you about "pointillism", which is the technique I used here to get the texture for the sweater, scarf, and lamb's wool. Instead of softly blending my colors together, like you would usually do with your Copic markers, I dotted the color on, adding the darker shades wherever I wanted to show shadows. It's a fun technique to play with!
Here's the inside of my card:
Here are the other MFT products I used on my card:
Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX
Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX
Hot Fudge Heavyweight Cardstock
Whip Cream Heavyweight Cardstock
Now....on to something fun for YOU! How about a little blog candy in honor of my newly appointed MFT design team position!
My current favorite patterned paper pack is the one you see pictured above... Handmade Holiday by Simple Stories. I love that paper so much that I bought myself a 6x6 pad PLUS a whole bunch of 12x12 sheets PLUS an extra 6x6 pad to give away. I also happen to have an extra PI Freckles stamp set, which reminds me so much of my own sweet, freckle-faced little girl. For good measure, I threw in a package of white mini brads. All you have to do for your shot at winning is simply leave me a comment on this post telling me what YOU love about My Favorite Things! I will draw the winner this Saturday afternoon, and make the announcement right here on my blog on Sunday morning! Do remember to leave your contact info with your comment!
Have a super day, friends! I'll see you right back here tomorrow for day one of this month's MFT teasers!
~Cindy
