It's time for the New Product Tour from My Favorite Things! The design team is showcasing ALL of the fabulous products being released this month; so hop on over to the MFT Blog, and you're in for a treat!
For my first couple of cards, I'm showcasing the adorable Pure Innocence On a Picnic set. I just can't get enough of the PI sets!
I began with a Sweet Tooth card base, added a layer of Wild Cherry, another layer of Sweet Tooth, and finally, a layer of X-Press It Blending Card. Along the bottom, I stamped the sentiment in Wild Cherry. Above that, I added a strip of Wild Cherry Grosgrain, and a bit of red and white twine. A Wild Cherry button at the top of the card adds balance.
I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored it with Copic markers. I air-brushed the sky, adding the clous with the Cloud Trio Die-namics, and hand-drew the grass blades in the back. The grass in the front was made with the Grassy Edges Die-namics. I put the picnic basket between the layers of die-cut grass, and popped it up with foam tape.
Inside, I stamped the sentiment in Wild Cherry, and the little girl in Sno Cone. At the top I added a thin strip of Sno Cone card stock, and along the bottom, I added another strip of grass made with Gumdrop Green card stock and the Grassy Edges Die-namics.
My second PI On a Picnic card uses the set in a totally different way. I began with a Black Licorice card base, and added layers of Sweet Tooth. I die-cut the top layer with the fabulous new Fluttering Hearts Die-namics, and added Sno Cone, Razzle Berry, and Black Licorice card stock behind the hearts. What a pretty background that makes, huh? I tied on some Sno Cone Grosgrain, a bit of black and white twine, and a Black Licorice button. I used the Washi Patterns stamp set, Washi Tape Die-namics, and Lovey-Dovey Sentiments to create the little tag.
Now, for the PI On a Picnic set, I cut the blanket off completely, and cut out the little bear. I then paper-pieced the bear underneath her arm; so it looks like she's holding the bear. Fun, right?
I stamped her on X-Press It Blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored her with Copic markers. Her shirt was paper pieced, and made with the Fluttering Hearts Die-namics, my Copic air-brush system, and my RV19 Copic marker. I gave the bear a bit of texture with Copic Colorless Blender and an old towel, simply by blotting it on after coloring the bear.
Inside, I used the Washi Patterns stamp set and Washi Tape Die-namics, as well as a sentiment from the Bold Statements set, stamped in Razzle Berry ink. I added a white heart to the center of the letter "A" in "HEART".
This sweet little basket is made with the new Picnic Basket Die-namics and Kraft card stock. To make the basket, I paired it with the Trapezoid Treat Box Die-namics. I added a mini bottle of white wine (tied up with a bit of Razzle Berry Grosgrain), and I'll fill the basket with yummy dark chocolate candies....the perfect picnic, in my opinion! :)
I sponged the basket with Kraft ink, and used my Copic markers to add texture, making it look more like real wood. The brads are some fun screw brads I have had in my stash forever.
My final project is made with the Pure Innocence Gone Fishin' stamp set. Isn't that the CUTEST stamp set?! The card base is Tangy Orange. The subtle striped pattern along the bottom edge was made with the new Washi Patterns stamp set. I wrapped a bit of twine around the card, and tied on an Orange Fizz button. The sentiment was stamped in Black Licorice.
