It's day five of Teaser Time at My Favorite Things! I am super-excited about the awesome sets and dies we're giving you a peek at today! How darling is that sweet hula girl from the new Aloha set?! I paired her with the fabulous Sun Ray and Palm Tree Die-namics. I finished off the beach scene with the Snow Drift Die-namic as sand, and a sentiment die-cut with the Accent It - Flags and Tags Die-namics.
The card stock colors on my card are Hot Fudge, Kraft, Gumdrop Green, Lemon Drop, Sno Cone, and X-Press It Blending Card. I sponged the tree trunk and sand with Kraft ink, the palm branches with Gumdrop Green ink, and the sun rays with Lemon Drop ink. I achieved the speckled sand look with my Copic Air Brush System and the super brush nib of my E39 Copic marker. Lots of double-sided foam tape and a bit of brown and white striped twine finish off the details nicely.
I colored the sweet hula girl with Copic markers, paying attention to the details, such as her knee caps, nose, and even her belly button. It really brings the image to life when you take the time to add in those little details.
Inside the card, I used the left-over piece of Kraft card stock that I had used for the sand on the front, and gave it the same sponging and air-brushing treatment. The pretty speckled cream card stock is brand-new too! It's called Primitive Cream, and comes in white as well. I stamped the girl in Kraft ink, and the sentiment along the curve of the paper in Gumdrop Green. A thin strip of Lemon Drop card stock adds balance.
