It's time for the July New Product Tour from My Favorite Things! Boy, are you in for a treat today, as you get a big, yummy taste of all the fabulous new release products. Start at the MFT Blog, and click on all the designers' pictures to see their creations.
My first card uses the new Pure Innocence Grillin' Girl set. The love this color combo of Berrylicious, Lemon Drop, Black Licorice, and Smooth White...so fresh and yummy! I stamped the new Jumbo Mod Borders on the background with Berrylicious, Black Licorice, and Blu Raspberry inks. The sentiment was die-cut with the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics, and stamped in Blu Raspberry ink. I added a strip of Black Licorice card stock, and colored the very botton of the sentiment piece with my Y35 Copic marker for a little added pop! I stamped another Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namic with Washi Patterns and Berrylicious ink for a fun layering piece. I added black/white twine tied up with Lemon Drop and Berrylicious buttons.
I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored her with Copic Markers. The apron was created by inking up one of the stamps from Washi Patterns, half in Lemon Drop and half in Blu Raspberry. Using the blue and yellow inks together created the pretty green shade in the middle. I then cut out the apron and paper-pieced it onto my girl.
Inside , I stamped borders along the top with Washi Patterns and Mod Borders, and die-cut the Washi Patterns piece with the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics. I stamped the girl in Lemon Drop, and the sentiment in Black Licorice.
I began with a Sno Cone card base, and added layers of Sweet Tooth, Banana Split, and Pink Lemonade. (That list makes me hungry!) I stamped the pattern from Jumbo Mod Borders in Banana Split ink on the Banana Split card stock. I machine-stitched that layer to the Sweet Tooth layer. The sentiment was stamped in Berrylicious ink.
I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored her with the following Copic markers:
*skin - E000/E51/E53
*hair - E53'/E55/E57
*swimsuit/flower/flip-flops - R20/R22/R24
*swim cap - Y00/Y04/Y08
*leaves/daisy centers - YG00/YG03
*inner tube - BG0000/BG10/Y00/Y04/Y08/N1
The circle was die-cut with the new Pierced Circles STAX Die-namics. I masked the sky with the Cloud Trio Die-namics, and the water with the Catch a Wave Die-namics, and air-brushed them with BG11 and BG57. The three "brads" were made with Pink Lemonade card stock, the Blueprints 5 Die-namics, and a bit of Mix-ables Sheer Sparkle Glaze.
The "diving board" was created with the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics.
The fun flag/sentiment detail was created with the new Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics and Washi Patterns stamp set, as well as Pink Lemonade and Banana Split inks. I love this fresh, fun look! There are SO many things you can do with the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics!
My third card uses the Pure Innocence Grillin' Girl set once again...love her! I began with Smooth White card stock, creating the graphic background with Jumbo Mod Borders, Red Hot ink, and a Red Hot card stock strip. The three "brads" and the two main panel layers were created with the Blueprints 5 Die-namics. The sentiment was, once again, die-cut with the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics.
I air-brushed the background with my B32 Copic marker for the sky, masking the clouds off with the Cloud Trio Die-namics. The grass was created with bunches of green and tan Copic markers, and a fine brush stroke. I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and cut her out. I cut the little spatula out of her hand, and replaced it with a ketchup bottle. :) She was colored with the following Copic markers:
*skin - E000/E51/E53/R20 (cheeks)
*hair - Y21/E51/E53
*shirt/ketchup bottle - R32/R35/R37
*glove/shoes - W1/W3/W5/W7/W9
*apron - C1 (just a bit on the edges to add depth)
*jeans - B32/B34/Colorless Blender (for a faded denim look)
My last card uses the fabulous new Tropical Sensations stamp set, Tropical Sensations Die-namics, Modern Morocco Die-namics, and (shocker!) the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics. The card base is Gumdrop Green, and I stamped the images and sentiment on Smooth White with Lemon Drop, Red Hot, and Gumdrop Green.
I added a bit of sparkle to the card with some Mix-ables Sheer Shimmer Mist, which is difficult to see in the original photo; so I thought I'd give you a close-up view of it. Pretty, isn't it?
