It's day four of Teaser Time at My Favorite Things! Aren't you loving the birthday theme this month? A good chunk of my family birthdays are in the summer; so the timing couldn't be more perfect for me!
I made this card for my son, who is about to turn....(you'll never guess)... That's right, 16. *gulp* Where, oh where, does the time go?
The card base is Steel Blue, and the layers are Tangy Orange and Smooth White. I used the new Big Numbers Die-namics for the "16", giving them fun patterns with the new Jumbo Mod Borders, and Steel Blue & Tangy Orange inks. I sponged the edges of the numbers to give them a more defined edge.
The "happy" die-cut was made with the new Accent It - Celebrate Die-namics. I stamped the "birthday" from the new You're Invited stamp set in a repeat pattern with Tangy Orange ink. The "th" after "16" was done with the new Happy Birthday Die-namics. I die-cut the word "birthday", and trimmed off the letters I needed.
The large arrow was made with the Lead the Way Die-namics, and the smaller arrows were made with the Accent It - Flags and Tags Die-namics. I thought it would be fun to layer them together. I really love how that turned out!
The little polka dotted tab was made with the Washi Tape Die-namics and Washi Patterns stamp set. I also used the Washi Patterns stamp set along the bottom of the card in Steel Blue ink. A Steel Blue button with a bit of orange/white twine finishes off the details.
Inside, I added a layer of Smooth White card stock, stamped the sentiment from the new Birthday Greetings in Tangy Orange and Steel Blue, and added a couple of Washi Patterns accents, die-cut with the Washi Tape Die-namics.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends!
