It's day six of Teaser Time at My Favorite Things! Today, I'm showcasing a fun new set from the Laina Lamb collection, called School Days. I also used the coordinating School Days Die-namics, and Textile Backgrounds set.
This was the perfect set for me to use to make a card to tuck into my son's backpack for him to find during his school day. There are so many fun elements in this set!
My card is 4-1/4" square, and made from Steel Grey card stock. The layers are Smooth White, Tangy Orange, Steel Blue, and Jellybean Green. I stamped the pencils on the background in Steel Grey ink. I stamped the patterns from Textile Backgrounds on the Tangy Orange and Jellybean Green strips with Tangy Orange and Olive inks. The arrow was die-cut with the new Blueprints 7 Die-namics out of Steel Blue card stock. I gave it a fun, textured look by swiping my Sweet Tooth ink pad along the arrow several times. I finished the details with some white and orange twine, an Olive Button, and a rounded corner.
I stamped the books in different colors by masking them with sticky notes. The colors are Tangy Orange, Steel Grey, Olive, and Steel Blue. I added a bit of color to them with Copic markers. I then die-cut the books with the School Days Die-namics.
Inside, I added a strip of Olive card stock, stamped the man in Olive ink, and stamped the sentiment flag in Tangy Orange.
Thanks for stopping by today! It's my b-day AND a holiday; so I get to celebrate with my whole family. How about that?! :) Happy Labor Day, friends!
