It's time for the monthly Design Team Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things. This month we were challenged to create a "Countdown to Christmas" project.
I found the idea for this advent calendar on the ever-addictive Pinterest. :) I happened to have an old picture frame hanging around, which I gave a good coat of white semi-gloss spray paint.
I then measured down the inside edges, dividing the sections so that five rows of tiny treat sacks could hangly equally. I hung the sacks on picture hanger wire that I attached to the picture frame with tiny eye screws.
Eacy of the little sacks was made from the Fishtail Flag Layers STAX Die-namics. I scored the die-cuts at 2", 2-3/4", and 4-3/4" to create a little tent with a flap for closure.
I then stamped polka dots in Sweet Tooth ink all over each of the little treat sacks using the Large Scale Backgrounds set.
I die-cut the circles from Sweet Tooth card stock using the Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics, and the numbers with Wild Cherry card stock using the Border It - Numbers Die-namics. I hung each little box with a mini clothespin and tied on some red/white and green/white striped twine to gussy them up a bit.
Although this project took me most of a day to complete, I am so glad I did it! I love how it turned out, and know that we'll be using it for many Christmases to come.
Have a great day, friends! Thanks for stopping by!
