Hello everyone! You may have noticed that I gave my blog a BIG overhaul yesterday. It was long over-due, and I've not only given it a fresher appearance and updated all of my links and widgets, I've made the font bigger and widened the center panel, which makes me oh-so-happy. I can see....I can see! Gee, can you tell I'm getting older? HaHa! I hope you find it to be user-friendly, as well as easy to navigate. :)
Only three days left until you can shop for the new release at My Favorite Things! Today, I have two cards to share with you.
The first one uses the new Sunny Day Doodles Spring Has Sprung stamp set:
The card base is Kraft, as is the next layer. The rest of the layers are Berrylicious, Grapesicle, Sour Apple, and X-Press It Blending Card.
The layout and all of the die-cuts were created with the Blueprints 13 Die-namics. I stamped the bird and row of flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored them in with Copic markers. I added a pop of white to some of the flowers with a opaque white pen. The sentiment was stamped in Blu Raspberry, and I finished off the details with a bit of purple/white twine, and a few enamel dots.
The colors for this first card are this month's Color Palette Challenge. Check it out here:
Here's a look at the Copic colors I used:
Such pretty, springy colors! Oh, how I am ready for SPRING! :)
Here's a look at the inside of the card:
I began with a layer of X-Press It Blending Card. I then used a left-over piece from the die-cut on the front of the card, and stamped "Happy Spring" in Black Licorice. I stamped over the words with Sour Apple and Blu Raspberry inks, and colored the flower in with my V15 Copic marker. I stamped a sweet little birdie in the bottom corner, and colored him with Copic markers as well.
Here's my second card:
This card showcases the new Chalkboard Greetings Too, as well as Wood Plank Background. The layout and die-cuts were created with the Blueprints 3 Die-namics.
The card base is Tangy Orange, and the layers are Black Licorice, Sno Cone, and Grout Gray. I sponged the edges of several of the card layers with the coordinating ink pad to give them a bit more depth.
The Wood Plank Background was stamped in Tangy Orange ink, and I added a couple of flourishes to the corners with Sweet Tooth ink. I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Tooth, and embossed it with white detail embossing powder. I then swiped a bit of Sweet Tooth ink on the background of the Black Licorice card stock to give it more of a chalkboard look. I dressed it up with a Tangy Orange button and a few enamel dots.
Inside, I added a layer of Smooth White, a strip of Sno Cone, stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice, and a fun squiggle accent in Sno Cone.
