I'm popping in today to share a project created with a brand-new digital stamp set from Power Poppy called Pansies.
I created a 5" square card, and used some gorgeous patterned paper from Basic Grey's Sweet Threads collection. I colored those yummy pansies up using the no lines coloring technique, which happens to be this month's Power & Spark Challenge too.
I printed the image on X-Press It Blending Card in a pale ink, and the sentiment on a pale gray cardstock in a dark red ink. I was originally thinking of coloring my pansies in shades of red & orange; so I printed the floral image in a pale orange color. In the end I colored the image in deep shades of purple, and as you can see it doesn't matter. My color choices for this image were bold bold BOLD. I was poking around google images, looking at pansy varieties, and discovered that there are some very bold colored pansies out there. So, I thought...why not! It was a little scary to go quite so bold; but in the end, I think the card conveys a bright, happy feel. So I'm good with that. :)
Here's a look at the Copic Markers I used to color the image:
Check out the inside of the card:
I printed the image again in a pale orange ink, and printed the sentiment right over the top in a deep red. A strip of patterned paper dresses it up just a little bit.
Oh, and don't forget to play along with this month's Power & Spark Challenge.
