Happy Valentines Day, friends!
I have been meaning to get this posted for a few days now; but, ahhh....life. :) Hey, at least I made it by V-Day, right?!
I created these sweet little Valentine boxes for my family this year. I always do something small, but sweet as a token of my love for each of them. We are careful not to turn it into another holiday about giving STUFF. It seems that every holiday has become that here in America. Ugh.
Anyway, I digress...
I created the little boxes using a die set from My Favorite Things. I stamped them in a rich red & Tsukineko's Gold Delicata inks using Power Poppy's Springtime Love & Good Thinking: Love Notes clear stamp sets. The darling little envelope name tags were created from a sheet of Echo Park's Words of Love patterned paper. I wrote the names with my Gold Zig Painty Pen. A little bit of gold cording & some pretty tissue paper finish off the details.
The BEST tape I've ever used to put together my 3D paper projects is X-Press It Double-Sided High Tack Tape. It comes in several sizes; but I used the 1/4" Double-Sided High Tack Tape on my boxes.
Here's how I applied it to my boxes:
Once I was ready to assemble them, I simply peeled off the paper backing and squeezed the sides together. Easy peasy! Oh, and did I mention that you don't need scissors for this tape??? True story! It rips with your fingers. So so awesome!
Here are some of the official details about this awesome tape:
- 1/4 inch x 55yards
- Heat resistant
- Easily apply by hand
- Extra strong adhesive
- Great for instant hemming
- High grip on metals, glass, wood, paper, plastics and fabrics
I love the instant hemming idea so much!
Here's a look at one of the boxes a little closer up:
Cute, right? ...and oh-so-simple!
In case you're wondering what's inside...
Yes, it's all candy. ;) Here's the funny part... My husband, youngest son, & I all started Whole30 four days ago. Sooo....yeah, not only can't they have the candy in these little boxes; but I had to put them together and not eat a single solitary one! Haha! Surprisingly, I was not even tempted to eat them. Jim & Nick will enjoy their treats after our Whole30 round is up, or give them away to someone else who may enjoy them. :) I did purchase them some small, non-food treats for their "real" V-Day gifts. Oh, and our Whole30 adventure is going really well so far! No headaches, no exhaustion, and no grumpies...yet. Hopefully it lasts!
Thanks so much for visiting with me today, friends! Have yourselves a day full of lots and lots of LOVE!
