Hello & a very happy Friday to you!
Today's card was created with Power Poppy's Wish You Luck digital stamp set. With St. Paddy's Day right around the corner, I thought it seemed appropriate.
On St. Patrick's Day in Ireland, Protestants wear orange, while Catholics wear green. In many communities in Ireland, wearing the wrong color would be like wearing the wrong gang color in the wrong neighborhood. So, since I am more Protestant than Catholic, I thought I'd better use more orange on my card than green. Seriously, though, I just really enjoy that color combo! It screams SPRING to me, and I am so very excited for the arrival of spring! We have had a sweet little taste of spring this past week.
The pretty orange toned background paper is from Basic Grey's Sweet Threads collection. I just noticed I used that very same paper on my last card. I guess I have a thing for orange right now. ;) You may notice it has a bit of a pinkish red in it; so when I colored up the flowers in the shamrock bouquet, I added a bit of red violet to them in addition to the orange tones.
I printed this image in a very pale green ink, and colored it with the following Copic Markers.
I added little touches of dark green with a .3 Olive Copic Multiliner, and my White Pearl Kirarina Wink Pen. I then fussy cut the image, and added a sweet gold cord bow. The sentiment was printed in a darker green ink and die cut with a banner die. I added a sprinkling of sequins to gussy it all up a bit.
