A Rare Stamposaurus!

Happy weekend, everyone!

I sure hope the weather is sunnier in your neck of the woods!  We have had the rainiest June I can ever remember.  I just took a peek at the 10-day forecast, and it shows thunderstorms every single day...right on through the 4th of July.  Lord, have mercy!  Thank God for a few little glimpses of sun this past week, or I might have packed up and moved already! ;)

Today's sample was made with the new Dino set from Hanna Stamps.  This is such a cute set!  I never seem to have enough sets for boys; so I am thrilled to have this one in my collection!

Artisan Award and Some Hannas

Hey everyone~

Well, now that it's officially "out of the bag", I hope you will indulge me a bit as I share my good news with you.  I am sooo excited to share that I have been selected as one of Stampin' Up's 2009 Artisan Award winners!  It is my first time submitting to any contest, and you may remember that I decided to enter just 3 days before I got my projects into the mail; so I figured my chances were probably not that great.  I had already geared myself up to just be really thankful for the experience and all those fun samples I could share with you all on future blog posts.  So, you can imagine my surprise to get that phone call from the Brent Steele himself!  Oh my flippin' WORD, I was so excited that I think I made Brent forget everything he needed to tell me.  So, he had to call me back, and I was like...oh man, you were just kidding weren't you...dialed the wrong number, huh?  He was like...no, not a chance, I forgot to tell you something.  Phew...

So, as a winner I get $500 in cash, plus a $500 shopping spree from the new catty (already made my list...spent every dime!), an Artisan Award "memento" (in the past it's been a beautiful bracelet), Awards Night recognition at Convention, and dinner with Shelli (owner of SU), Brent, and two of their concept artists.  How cool is that?!! 

I can't stop thinking about what an amazing journey I have had with SU in the last 10+ years.  From my many years as a successful business demo to this last year as a very content hobbyist, not to mention the many wonderful friendships I have formed along the way...I have absolutely had the time of my life!  I have gotten to experience the best of both ends of the spectrum, and I feel sooo incredibly blessed.  I will always {heart} SU...regardless of where I fall on the "spectrum". :)

Okay...enough of my blabber!  Here are a couple of samples I made with my new Hanna stamps:

This first one was made for Sunday's Featured Stamper challenge.  This is Hanna's Route 66 stamp set, which was just released this month.  I chose to glam it up a bit with a pink and black color palette, fleur de lis border, and a little bling.

Hanna Stamps!

Hello, friends!

I am happy to share that Nicholas is feeling like himself again today; so he should be good to head back to school tomorrow.  He's been really enjoying a couple of lazy days at home. :)

I am super-excited to tell you that I have the honor and privilege of being a guest designer for Hanna Stamps this month!  Hanna just released some awesome new goodies; so be sure and stop by the store to check out what's new!

I made this sample with the fabulous new 5 Dresses stamp set.  I colored this image in while I was hanging out with my girlfriends.  I thought it was very appropriate, since each one of my sweet friends really is absolutely fabulous.  I love 'em to pieces! :)  I showed my hubby the card, and told him that's what I was going to look like by Christmas.  He said, "Which one?" and I said, "The brunette, of course."  So, he comes back with, "Yeah, she has the shortest skirt."  Men...sheesh!

Hanna's Garden

Hey everyone~

Well, I had a much more productive day yesterday...yahoo!  Truthfully, I had to force myself to get started; but once I did, I was on a roll.  I have been soooo tired lately.  Here's hoping for another productive day today! :)

The sample above is made with I Love My Garden from Hanna Stamps.  I just got the set, and couldn't wait to ink it up.  I've had my eye on it since it was released...such a cool stamp set!  

I used yesterday's Splitcoaststampers card sketch for the layout...love all those fabulous layers!  My image is watercolored with re-inkers and a water brush on watercolor paper.  As much as I'm enjoying my Copic markers lately, there's nothing quite like watercoloring for me.  You just can't beat the shading.
