My card today was made for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. Check out the gorgeous inspiration photo:
For my card, I chose to work with the beautiful Inspired By Flowers Set #4 from My Favorite Things. I hadn't inked up this gorgeous flower yet (say whaat?!); so I was super-excited to get to color it in these rich shades of raspberry.
The card base is Smooth White, and the layers are Lemon Drop and Blu Raspberry. I stamped the Pinstripe Background in Blu Raspberry, and added lots of die-cut layers, including the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics, Blueprints 15 Die-namics, Open Scallop Doily Die-namics, Fishtail Flags STAX, Fishtail Flags Layers STAX, and Open Simply Scallops Trio Die-namics.
I decorated the top with a Lemon Drop button, Blu Raspberry button tied with a bit of white crochet thread, and a white enamel dot.
I stamped the flower in Black Licorice Hybrid Ink on X-Press It Blending Card, and colored it with Copic markers. I stamped that wonderful sentiment in Blu Raspberry. I need to remember that when the stresses of life have me grumbling. We've been without internet (along with a good portion of New England!) since Sunday without any explanation or a timeline from our provider. I'm just about CHANTING "choose joy" at this point! lol I'm typing this post as lickity split fast as I can using my phone's limited data plan (so thankful for that option!).
Anyway...I digress. Here are the Copic colors I used:
The white polka dots in the flower center were added with a Sakura White Glaze Pen.
Inside, I added a die-cut strip of Lemon Drop, part of a die-cut Blu Raspberry circle that I stamped a flower on in Blu Raspberry, and the sentiment, which was stamped in Blu Raspberry and Razzle Berry inks.
The sketch for my card is this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Check it out:
I mirrored the sketch to better fit the image on my card.
