Today's card was made for Anna Wight's Dare To Get Dirty Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers a couple of weeks ago. I just had to use a stamp that she drew herself. This one's called Hayseed, and is manufactured by Whipper Snapper Designs. He's a handsome boy, isn't he? I made this one for my son, Nick, who is our resident farmer, complete with his own brood of chickens. :)
The sentiment comes from the Friendly Expressions set, which is just chock full of great sayings and a beautiful trio of coneflowers.
The card base is kraft, and the layers are mustard, X-Press It Blending Card, and October Afternoon's Sasparilla patterned paper. I kept the embellishments rustic and simple, and mounted the focal image on a fun tag element, sponging the edges to add to the rustic feel.
Here's a look at the Copic colors I used:
I added texture to the hat and jeans with Colorless Blender and a scrap piece of denim fabric. I added texture to the hay bale and a bit on the chicken simply by adding "strokes" of color with the tip of my marker, rather than blending the color in.
Here's a peek at the inside of the card:
I added a layer of ivory card stock, a strip of patterned paper, and stamped the image in mustard ink.
Thanks so much for visiting today, friends! I hope you have a FABULOUS Monday! (It can be done...promise!)
