Hello Stampers~
I'm so excited about today's Flourishes sneak peeks! Lauren Pope has designed a gorgeous nautical set called A Guiding Light, perfect for the men in your life! Complimenting this set beautifully is the gorgeous Antique Map background.
I used both sets on my card today. I began with this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch. The map worked perfectly for this sketch! I distressed it with a bone folder and sponged on several shades of Tim Holtz Distress Ink. To make the 'waves' I simply tore several layers of Co'ordinations cardstock, and sanded some of them to reveal the lighter colored core. I cut out the sails on the boat and popped it up on Dimensionals to make it stand out a bit more. Finally, I added another sailor knot...I mean how could I *not*?! ;)
Here's a detail shot:
