It's time for Flourishes Friday! This week we have a fun Shades of Sunset challenge for you! It's sad to say, but the daylight hours will start to get shorter and the summer will start to fade. Let's honor the change of seasons with our Shades of Sunset challenge. This challenge is open to interpretation. Sunsets are so unique - some show mostly shades of red and orange, others can light up the sky with purple and pink hues. Pick your favorite sunset colors and get inspired! Use keyword FLLCAUG11 when uploading your card. The deadline for submissions is August 12 @ 5pm EST.
For my card, I chose to use Flourishes Kids Play stamp set. I kept my card super-simple, in honor of crazy summer schedules. This is absolutely a 10-minute card, and we all know I don't make those very often! LOL
I stamped my image on Classic White cardstock, and sponged on several shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I added the streaking by using the edges of the sponge daubers. I then stamped the sentiment and fishing image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
The textured background was made with a Cuttlebug embossing folder...love how they look on black cardstock!
The final finishing touches are three black rhinestones, a bit of gorgeous Black and Cream Striped Ribbon, some orange and white twine, and a button.
That's it! Easy peasy! :)
