Hey everyone~
It's time for the monthly design team Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things. This month we were challenged to share favorite color combos using MFT inks and cardstock. Well, I have so many favorites that it was difficult to choose just one; so I have a couple to share with you today. :)
The first combo is an absolute fave for spring... Gumdrop Green, Tangy Orange, and Sno Cone. Aren't they so fresh and pretty?
For my card, I began with a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" Sweet Tooth card base, layers of Tangy Orange cardstock, and pretty patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's Notable collection. That gorgeous porch image is from the Inspired By the Front Porch - Spring stamp set. I colored it with oodles of Copic markers onto X-Press It Blending Card.
The woodgrain look of the porch floor was created with lots of tan and brown shades, which were lightly "flicked" on with little to no blending between shades.
The sentiment was stamped in the lower left corner of the image with Gumdrop Green ink.
Inside the card, I added a couple of strips of patterned paper, stamped the sentiment in Memento Morocco ink (can't wait to get Tangy Orange ink!!!), and stamped the tulips image in Sno Cone ink.
Another favorite is a fresh twist on primary colors, Gumdrop Green, Electric Red, Lemon Drop and Nightshift Navy. I chose this fun color combo to make my oldest son a birthday card. He will be 24 in a couple of months...man, do I feel old! :)
I began with a Gumdrop Green cardstock base, and added layers of Sweet Tooth cardstock and pretty patterned papers from Bo Bunny's Surprise collection.
The banners were made with the Party Banners Die-namics and Party Hat Border Die-namics. I added a strip of Gumdrop Green Grosgrain Ribbon to the center of the card. The sentiment was made with this month's Triple Scoop Reward Set, Birthday Sentiments. I stamped it on Sweet Tooth cardstock with Electric Red ink, and die-cut it with the Accent It - Flags and Tags Die-namics.
The birthday numbers were made with the a la mode Big Birthday Numbers, stamped on X-Press It White Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with the following Copic markers:
*greens - YG61/YG63/YG67
*blues - B91/B95/B97
I added a layer of Glossy Accents to the letters to make them nice and shiny. I mounted the letters on die-cut circles made with the Circles 1 & Circles 2 STAX Die-namics.
Inside the card, I added a layer of Sweet Tooth cardstock and a sweet banner made from the Party Banner Die-namics. The sentiment from Birthday Sentiments was stamped in Electric Red and Lemon Drop inks. I added a single party hat to the sentiment with the Party Hat Border Die-namics.
That's all for today, friends!
Thanks so much for visiting with me! :)
~Cindy
