Hello friends!
I'm back after a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with my sweet family. I have eaten entirely too much pie for my own good; but I've balanced it out with a new gym membership. LIfe is all about balance, right? :)
My card today is made with some darling new stamps from Great Impressions Stamps. I used the new Santa Owl image, along with the Naughty or Nice sentiment stamp. Both of these are Stickable Stamps, which are precision cut, cling rubber stamps that have the image printed right on them. Love that feature so much!
My card is 5-1/4" square, and the pretty patterned papers are from Penny Black's Madison 6x6 paper pack. I am a big fan of red, white, and pale blue together...so fresh and yummy!
I stamped the owl image on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored him in with the following Copic markers:
R32/R35/R37/E31/E35/E42/E44/BG10/BG53/BG57/Y23/Y28/Y32/Y38/YR04/YR09
I added sparkle to the snow with a Clear Stardust Gellyroll pen, and sparkle to his belt buckle with a Gold Spica Glitter Pen. I added shine to the eyes with Glossy Accents, and fluff to the fur trim on his outfit with Polar White Flower Soft.
The Naughty or Nice sentiment was stamped in Memento Teal Zeal ink.
I die-cut the image with a Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics die, and the sentiment flag with a Fishtail Flag STAX Die-namics die. I wrapped a bit of teal/white twine, and sprinkled on a few rhinestones to finish the details.
Inside, I added a couple of strips of patterned paper, and stamped Santa Owl in Memento Teal Zeal, that was stamped off one time.
So.... Would you like to win your very own Santa Owl stamp and Naughty or Nice sentiment stamp??? Of COURSE you would! All you need to do is leave me a comment here on this post, and you'll be entered to win! It's as easy-peasy as that! Want a SECOND chance to win?! Hop on over to the Great Impressions Blog, and leave a comment on my post over there as well! When you leave your comment, I'd love it if you shared a special tradition that your family observes for the holidays, whether it be Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate. Just tell me what you do that makes this time of year so special for your family. I'll start with a fun one... Each year for the past several years, we've done a family photo shoot all wearing matching pj's. Yup, my boys are 24, 22, and 16, and they willingly do this. I {heart} my cheesy family. I'll share this year's pic on the blog, once we've taken it. I've already ordered the pj's. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by, friends! Have a FABULOUS Tuesday!
~Cindy

Hi Cindy,
What a cute card!!! :) And your boys are such good sports-what fun! We have quite a few traditions, but the ones we've already done this year are decorating the tree with Christmas carols & hot chocolate and writing messages on Santa's chalkboard (we have a 4 1/2 foot tall ceramic Santa that holds a chalkboard for a menu and my son & daughter take turns writing a daily message)!
Thanks so much for sharing and for the chance to win!
Crafty hugs,
Jennifer

Such a "hoot"ing cute card, Cindy. Each year, I buy my two children one new ornament. So, when we are all gathered on Christmas eve, we play a game of who can guess what year it was from. I do take pictures of the new ornament that they received that year, for my record and to resolve any disagreements on dates.

Love your wonderful card! The glossy accents and the gold buckle and flower soft fur add so much!! Each year we bake cut-out cookies and decorate them. This Thanksgiving weekend my sister Diana did all the prep and aside from the traditional shapes we also made the little cookie houses that can sit on the rim of your coffee or cocoa mug! (You can find pictures on Pinterest if you are not familiar with them). :)

I just love this card! It would be a great one to send to my grand kids. They love getting cards from grandma and display them in their homes (yes, they are grown with homes of their own). Since the family has grown with in-laws and out-laws and I don't have room for all to sit down for dinner, we have our annual Christmas pizza around the tree on Christmas evening. That way the families can celebrate earlier with their other in-laws!
I would love the win this adorable stamp it is so cute.

As always Cindy I admire your beautiful, creative work and I love this card. A darling image and wonderful sentiment. Gorgeous! Our tradition is to open one gift Christmas Eve and always inside that one gift is our Christmas jammies. In spite of doing this every year we are all excited to run up and put them on and settle in for a fun evening full of lots of chatter, a Christmas movie, Christmas Carols and putting out the tray of cookies and milk for Santa's arrival.

Beautiful card, love the detail on the inside too. Our family tradition is about food. We have American style pancakes for breakfast and instead of Xmas pudding we have my New York style cheesecake for dessert.
Thanks for the chance x

Adorable card! Owls are special to me. I really love any card with an owl. And I love all the punny sentiments you can use with an owl. We have lots of traditions in our family. One of them is to hang the stocking on the mantle rigth after Thaksgiving. And then we celebrate St. Nick's Day with little gifts in the stocking. It's always so fun to start Christmas early!

Adorable crissy card, so love the image and thanks for the chance to win, dropped on over to Great Impressions too. Love your story at christmas time. I love this time as year as everyone goes to our place to celebrate. I remember 2 years ago my son 17 then, and my daughter 23 & partner pulled out there toy water pistols and it was on, you can just imagine there was so much happening, it was great to hear all the laughter & happiness. Will definetly have another fun year, just like you & your family. Merry Chirstmas wishes to you all early xx big hugs

Love your card and love the owl and saying. When my sons left home, I started giving them Christmas coffee mugs each year and when my eldest son got married, I started getting my daughter-in-law one also. I think she likes the idea as she stated that she liked her coffee mug so much last year that she used it all year long. Thank you for the chance to win.

I love this card. Not sure how you got the fur on the hat so fuzzy but well done. Our tradition has to do with breakfast. When we wake up Christmas morning we open stockings then we make a big breakfast and eat and clean up before we can open anything else including what Santa brought. It almost killed the kids when they were younger.
