Hey everyone!
It's time for the monthly Design Team Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things! This month, we were challenged to create projects using stencils. I had lots of fun with mine! :)
My first card was made using My Favorite Things' newest stencil offering, Spring Flowers. The card base is Smooth White, as are all of the layers. I scored along the bottom of the card with my Scor Buddy, and gussied it up with a trio of white pearls. The sentiment from Love Story was stamped in Tsukineko's Golden Glitz Delicata ink. The pretty die-cuts are made with the Oval Decorative Doily Duo Die-namics. The sweet butterflies were die-cut with the Winged Beauties Die-namics, and I dressed them up with a few tiny white pearls. I wrapped the card in lots of gold cording as an anchor for the sentiment layers.
To create the white on white textured background, I used white embossing paste and the Spring Flowers stencil. I simply laid the stencil over the card stock, spread the embossing paste on, lifted the stencil, and let the design dry. That's it! Simple, and yet oh-so-striking, don't you think?
Inside, I added a left-over strip of the textured layer, and stamped a few butterflies from Winged Beauties in Tsukineko's Golden Glitz Delicata ink.
My second card is bold, colorful, and yet still clean and simple. The card stock is Smooth White and Steel Grey, and the graphic black and white design was created with the Textile Background stamp set. The colorful background was created with the Abstract Petals stencil, my Copic air-brush system, and Copic markers.
I masked off the sentiment area with a strip of Eclipse Masking Tape, and stamped the sentiment from Simply Fabulous Sayings in Steel Grey ink. An assortment of enamel dots finish off the details.
Inside, I added strips of Razzle Berry and Wild Cherry card stocks, and stamped the flowers from the Forget Me Not stamp set in Razzle Berry, Wild Cherry, and Sno Cone. The sentiment was stamped in Steel Grey ink.
Thanks so much for visiting today, friends! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for links to all the other designers' fabulous creations!
