Hello friends!
Have you loved this release or what?! Today is day one of the Release Rewind from My Favorite Things. Half of the design team is sharing projects today, and half will share projects tomorrow.
I have two cards to share with you today. :)
My first card was created using the Birdie Brown Every Day Is a Picnic set. This would SO be at the top of my shopping list...if I didn't already have it. Hee hee
My card base is Grout Gray, and the layers are Safety Orange, Kraft, Smooth White, and X-Press It Blending Card. I stamped the Linen Background in Grout Gray, stamped the Gingham Background in Safety Orange, and stamped the row of ants (stinkin' CUTE) in Kraft.
The layers were die-cut with the Blueprints 13 Die-namics, Rectangle STAX 1 Die-namics, Rectangle STAX 2 Die-namics, Blueprints 16 Die-namics, and, of course, the Every Day Is a Picnic Die-namics.
I air-brushed the background with the YR14 and BG93 Copic markers. I stamped the images on X-Press It Blending Card with Black Licorice Hybrid ink, and colored them with the following Copic markers:
I've been challenging myself lately to use colors that I don't always gravitate towards...like those BG90's (so pretty!), and coloring her skin with YR000/E21/E43. I colored four different images (all with skin) in one sitting the other day, and did not allow myself to repeat a single skin color...challenging, but fun! There really are so many options!
When I colored her hat, I added texture with a piece of denim and a spritzer of Colorless Blender. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.... Be sure to do this part BEFORE coloring the rest of the image. Colorless Blender will remove color everywhere you've colored...everywhere.
Inside, I added a layer of Smooth White, a strip of Safety Orange, stamped the image in Safety Orange, stamped the row of ants in Kraft, and added the row of stitching with the Blueprints 13 Die-namics.
My second card was created using the new Smile stamp set, TRANSFORM-ables Smile Die-namics, Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics, Every Day Is a Picnic stamp set, and coordinating Every Day Is a Picnic Die-namics.
The card base is Primitive Cream, and the layers are Nightshift Blue, Gumdrop Green, Grout Gray, Smooth White, and A Charmed Life patterned papers from Simple Stories.
The sentiment was stamped in Nightshift Blue and die-cut with the Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.
A bit of yellow and white striped twine and a Safety Orange button finish off the details.
I stamped the sun on X-Press It Blending Card with Black Licorice Hybrid ink, and colored it with the Y17 and YR14 Copic markers. I layered on a smiley face from the Blueprints 11 Die-namics. I gave it a bit of shading with my Copic Airbrush System and YR14 Copic marker.
Inside, I added a few strips of patterned paper, stamped the sentiment in Nightshift Blue, and stamped the word smile three times in Gumdrop Green that I stamped off once.
Thanks very much for stopping by today, friends! Do swing by the MFT Blog to check out the rest of the designers' work.
Have a beautiful day!
~Cindy
