Hey everyone!
It's time for another Peep of the Week Challenge from Power Poppy! Last week's submissions were just fabulous! The winners are up on the Power Poppy blog; so be sure to hop on over there to check them out!
I created a little something to help get your creative juices flowing. :)
I decided to create a card with a vintage, distressed feel using the Lavender set. I've been using lots and lots of white lately; so I challenged myself not to use any at all on this.
The card base and most of the layers are Kraft. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye's Pretty Things 6x6 pack. I added a trio of die-cut flags at the bottom, along with some pale lavender and white striped twine. I "dirtied" up the twine with a Kraft ink had. I stamped the word "lavender" in pale lavender ink.
I created the embossed background with my Scor Buddy. I then distressed the edges and sponged it all with Kraft ink.
I stamped the lavender image in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored it with the following Copic markers: G43/YG17/YG25/B02/V04/V17/E19/YR18
I created the aged, mottled background behind the lavender by air-brushing several shades onto the background (YG25/B02/E19), then "pouncing" heavily right over the top of it all with the Colorless Blender. What a cool look that created! So much FUN!
Inside, I added a strip of patterned paper across the top, and stamped the bucket of lavender in mint green ink.

This is just gorgeous. The rustic look, the tiny scraps of paper and the tiny pops of color in the corner, not to mention the lilac twine, make for perfection!

Oh my....how lovely! That is quite a challenge to not use white, but I don't miss it a bit on this beauty! And of course, your coloring ROCKS! :)
