Hello friends!
Oh my goodness, it has been far too long since I've played with a Saturated Canary digital image! They are SO much fun to color! This one's called Violet. Isn't she just the sweetest thing?
I chose to print her off in the lighter ink for a no-lines coloring look. She is printed on X-Press It Blending Card (what else?!). It takes a little more patience to color an image without those dark lines; but it is well worth it in the end, in my opinion.
I used a "few" Copic markers to color her up (ahem):
I could barely fit the in the bucket! Sometimes I have a hard time containing myself. ;)
Once I had her sufficiently colored, I added beautiful white accents in several areas with a bit of Copic Opaque White.
Opaque White is a water-based pigment perfect for adding highlights effects to your projects. It won't bleed into your base color and allows for sharp line definition. Now, I should tell you that you should never use a Copic marker on TOP of your Opaque White, as it will clog the tip of your marker nib. You should always do your marker work first, and apply your Opaque White last.
Here's a close-up look at the Opaque White areas on the eyes and center of the flower in her hair. I used the small jar with the built-in brush to do the fine detail work here; but you could use a fine paintbrush with the larger jar, and get the same effect.
This close-up shows the white details on the leg-warmers, socks, and shoes. I added highlights to the shoes and simply followed the patterns already drawn on the leg-warmers and socks. Easy peasy, and very effective!
Thanks so much for visiting with me today, friends! Have yourselves an amazing last day of March, and go get yourselves some Opaque White!
~Cindy
Oh, Cindy, I just love this sweet Violet, and your coloring is exquisite! Yes, it was well worth the time to color her. And, wow, the Opaque White really makes such a difference. I guess I need the bottle with the fine brush. I have the jar, but the brush looks easier. Thanks for inspiring me - as always! Hugs!

Wow...this is amazing, Cindy! I love it! (I tried no-line coloring once. It took forever to color a small turtle. SO difficult!)
