Hello creative friends!
I'm here to share a couple of fun products with you today that may be unique to your paper crafty mind. The sweet silhouette blooms were hand-drawn onto X-Press It Blending Card using Premium Black Type 1 Dipping Ink, a Free Size Pink Pen Nib Holder (currently out of stock), and a Chrome Spoon Pen Nib.
I was a little nervous to use an open bottle of ink (hello, clutzy!); but I had such fun doing it! The ink flows sooo smoothly, and the beautiful nib allowed me to create even lines and the finest of details. There are several different sized nibs to choose from as well.
After I finished drawing the silhouette, I cleaned off the nib with a bit of Colorless Blender solution. If you clean it while it's still wet, you should be able to use water. I don't operate that fast. ;)
The sentiment is from Power Poppy's Simply Camellias stamp set. (Yes, I could have hand-written the sentiment; but it wouldn't have looked nearly that good!)
I then created the pretty background by air-brushing three Copic colors randomly and heavily all over the background. Here are the colors I used:
Once I had it completely covered and fairly dark, I spritzed on some Colorless Blender to add a beautiful texture to the background.
As you can see, I over-spritzed, allowing some blobs of Colorless Blender to fall onto the cardstock. This gives it a more irregular look. It also lightens up the colors quite a bit, which is why I went dark to begin with.
I chose to use all white cardstock for my layers, keeping the focus on the artsy image panel. I adhered the layers together with the X-Press It Double-Sided Tape Runner. Not only does this tape runner roll beautiful...no skipping, no gumming up; but it will last longer than comparable tape runners and your projects won't fall apart. Of course, it's also acid & solvent free and even heat resistant. What more could you ask for in a tape runner? They thought of everything!
My handwriting is not the greatest; but I did enjoy writing the sentiment inside with the Dipping Pen & Ink. You can see how smooth and even the ink is...and it's seriously fun to do! If you are into calligraphy, well...o. m. gosh! You are gonna love this!
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit today, friends! I hope you are inspired to try something new. Have a beautiful day!
~Cindy
