Hello, crafty friends!
Are you ready for another Power Poppy Friday? It's also a new month, which means we have a brand new Power & Spark Challenge for you as well! This month, the fabulous Tosha is hosting a fun & festive Think Pink Challenge. All you need to do to participate is create a Christmas project using the color pink! Easy, right?
It's SO easy that I'm not so sure I nailed it this time. I intended to work with pinks; but I ended up going for more peachy red tones. I really did start out "thinking" pink; but I guess I got a little side-tracked. ;)
My card today showcases the Chickadee In Barberry digital stamp set. Not only does this set come with a gorgeous chickadee image, but four perfect holiday sentiments as well. The candy stripe patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye's Sugar Plum collection.
I printed the image in black ink onto X-Press It Blending Card, and colored it with the following Copic Markers.
After I colored the image, I just knew it needed some sparkle. So, I pulled out my fabulous atyouSpica Glitter Pens, and added sparkle to both the snow and the berries. I used the Clear Spica Glitter Pen on the snow as well as just a dot on the eye, and the Peach Spica Glitter Pen on the berries. There is no other glitter pen on earth that produces such a sweet, shimmery look, while not detracting from the colored image.
Check it out:
Isn't that pretty? Well, I assure you, it's even prettier in person! I love how subtle it is. It adds to the design, rather than overpowering it. Do you have any of the Spica Glitter Pens? If you don't, you really do need them as a staple in your crafty stash. If nothing else, get the clear one!
They come in 24 different colors, which you can purchase individually or in sets. You will, of course, want them all, once you try them!
Here's a bit of info about the atyouSpica Glitter Pens:
The micro-glass flakes in atyouSpica glitter pens are more reflective and brilliant than the glass beads typically used other glitter pen brands.
Features:
- Archival
- Non-toxic
- Acid-free
- No-clog nib
- Pigment-based
- Writes for over 360 yards - twice the length of other writing pens
The transparent pigment can be layered over other inks to add extra color and luster, as you can see in my project above. So, yes, MUST have!
Here's a look at the inside of the card:
I used a strip of the candy stripe patterned paper, and stamped a couple of images from the Glistening Paperwhites stamp set. I love interchangeable all of Power Poppy's stamp sets are!
We get lots of chickadees at our bird feeders in the winter here. I so love watching them! Here's a picture I snapped of one of them a few years ago.
Is that just the cutest bird ever?! I just can't get enough of them.

Oh, Cindy, this is GORGEOUS! I absolutely love this darling chickadee, and what a beautiful photo you snapped a while back. They are so gentle and pretty. And what gorgeous coloring, as always, my friend! Wow! I love the DP and the beautifully soft hint of pink shading around this chickadee on barberry...it's stunning! And the sequins are all that is needed for embellishment. Love card inside with the DP and the sweet sentiment and corner stamping. Beautifully done! Hugs! xoxo

I am so impressed by your card design on this hop. I love the subtle touches of pink, ( peach qualifies). The candy strip background makes for a very festive look. Outstanding coloring of the chickadee, he is magnificent.
