Hello, dear crafty friends!
Today, I'm sharing a card created with Power Poppy's newest digital stamp set, called Hyacinth Bulb in Glass. Oh my goodness, is this every a delicious image to color!
I printed the images in black ink onto X-Press It Blending Card, and colored the beautiful bloom in with the following Copic Markers.
Can you believe I managed to use that many Copic colors on that one image??? Okay, if you know me at all, you can believe it! Hah! There's a lot of depth in those blooms! ;)
I created the cool, watercolor effect background by sponging on a couple of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks, and then spritzing them with water. LOVE the effect! I used Broken China for the sky and Vintage Photo for the ground. I really love the way the water gave the sentiment a smudgy, watercolor look as well. That, my friends, is what you call a happy accident...because it could have totally gone wrong.
I highlighted a few of the words in the sentiment with Copic Markers, added a few paper flags and a button to finish off the details.
Inside the card I have a simple printed hyacinth image in the palest of purple inks on white card stock. That is all...just a soft background to write my sentiment over. I didn't think it warranted a photo, and frankly, it would have killed me to have people say how much they loved *both* cards when all I did is print an image on the inside. LOL I still die laughing every time someone says that! (It's the little things, right?)
Thanks a million for stopping by today, friends!
Be sure to swing by some of the other Bloom Brigade blogs to see their fabulous creations.
