Hello, friends!
It is with sadness and a great deal of admiration, that we bid farewell to our longest-standing Copic team member (other than Marianne), Sherrie Siemens. Sherrie has made the very difficult choice to step down from the team, as she begins an exciting new adventure going back to school to pursue a brand-new career.
Sherrie was teaching classes for Copic when there was no Power Point presentation, no manual, and, heck...not even an outline! If you know Sherrie at all, then you know she doesn't get her feathers ruffled easily. Combine that with the fact that she is supremely talented, and you have the perfect person for the job. She can handle whatever's thrown her way with style and grace like nobody's business.
Sherrie's YouTube videos on Copic coloring were among the very first videos I watched on the subject, and I soaked up every bit of her knowledge (& that sweet Canadian accent) I could through my computer screen. She has taught many, many people how to color with Copics...such a gift.
My first time working with Sherrie was in Toronto in the spring of 2012. We were to room together, and I was to sit in on her certification classes to learn from a master. That whole trip was a bit of a fiasco; but one of the funniest parts was that we were both sitting in different hotel rooms waiting for the other to arrive...for hours. The front desk was to tell us when the other arrived, and instead they put us into two different rooms and promptly forgot all about us. Believe me when I tell you, that was the LEAST of the things that went wrong that weekend! It was most definitely a bonding weekend for us.
Sherrie is the best of the best, both as a teacher, and in her personal life as well. I so admire her work ethic, strength of character, steadfast faith, and the beautiful grace with which she handles whatever comes her way. I sure am going to miss getting to hug her neck at events and meetings. We will have to settle for cyber hugs for now. It's at times like these that I'm so very thankful for the internet. :)
I created a little card today as well, in honor of Sherrie's new adventure. Sherrie, you ARE golden, and you are going to ROCK it! xo
The image I chose is a digital stamp from A Day For Daisies. It's called Cat and Three Fishes. I used a sentiment I had on hand from another "fishy" stamp set.
Here's a look at the Copic colors I used:
The card happens to fit the current challenge over at A Day For Daisies, which is to Add Sequins. Easy peasy!
The rest of the Copic team would like to share their thoughts about our sweet Ms. Sherrie as well. Hop on over to their blogs:
Please join us in wishing Sherrie all the best in her new endeavor. Stop by her blog and let her know how much you appreciate her, and how very much she will be missed. We love you, Sherrie!
Have a beautiful day!
~Cindy
