Fat Cat Birthday

Hello Stampers~

Today's card is a very simple birthday card made using Penny Black's It's Your Day stamp set.  I return to this set again and again for birthday cards...especially for kids!  In fact, my daughter saw this card and decided she wants me to give it to her for her birthday...silly girl!  I will, of course, be making her a card that she has NOT seen.  I better get crackin' on that too, cuz her birthday's August 22nd!

This card is only 4-1/4" square, and as you can see, I've made a little envelope to match. :) 

It is difficult to see in the photo; but I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the pink cardstock to make it sparkle...very pretty in person.

The image was colored in very sparingly with Copic markers (C00, C1, RV00 & RV02).  The black and white patterned paper is from SEI's Black Orchid paper pack.  I colored all the circle centers on the paper to match the "pink" theme using my RV00 Copic marker...such an easy way to add a coordinating element!

A Little Birdie Told Me...

Hello Stampers~

Today's card is made with a sweet little Penny Black image called Good Friends, which I picked up at the Stampers Dream store.  Could she be any more adorable?! :)  I went with bright, springy colors  in hopes that it will help ease the pain of this crazy, snowy winter.  Oh, how I look forward to spring....

I colored the image in with Copic markers, and added brightly colored sheer ribbons and designer papers from Cosmo Cricket's Delovely pack.  

The card itself is made with pale yellow textured cardstock, and measures 5-1/2" square.

As I sit here looking out my window, I see that yet another snow storm is getting underway.  So...I will just pretend I am in that lovely springtime place with this darling little girl and her little birdie friend.  Can't you just smell the grass?  Sigh...

Hello Stampers~

My goodness, this week is slipping by quickly!  I took MLK Day off on Monday, and it has thrown me completely off kilter.  I did use that day off to spend some fun, quality time with my kiddos.  We went ice skating...the kids for the first time ever, and me for the first time in 20+ years!  We started out on our own pond in the backyard, and then got confident enough to head to a public skating pond.  We had the best time together, and the kids are chomping at the bit to go again.  I am so glad we decided to get ice skates for Christmas this year...gonna be a good investment I see. :)

About that card up there...

It's made with Penny Black's Good Catch stamp set (sweeeet), which I picked up at Stampers Dream. I colored the image with Copic markers, and air brushed the sky with the Copic Air Brush system.  

The fun layout is this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.  The card size is 5-1/2" square.

A Wonderful Friend

Happy first day of December to you!  Gosh, I am on a roll this week, huh?!  Three days of posting in a row...how about that? ;)

Today's sample is made with Penny Black's adorable Candy Cane Wishes stamp set, and some deLISH Snow Day patterned papers from Crate Paper.  I got 'em both at Stampers Dream!

I colored the sweet little angels in with Copic markers, and added some Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Glitter Pen to their wings and various other little sparkly parts.  The sentiment is from Rachelle Ann Miller's Sentiments 1 set.

Here's a close-up:

You can see the sparkle a bit better in the close up.  I cut the girls out and popped them up on Dimensional dots, and added a shimmery ribbon, sparkly snowflake, and some pretty purple rhinestones to finish it off.

Kindness Feeds the Heart

Hello Stampers~

I am finally able to upload a card to my blog again...yay!  My computer is still acting up a bit; but it is at least working. :)

For today's sample, I used Penny Black's Kindness image.  Isn't it the sweetest???  I colored the image with about a bazillion Copic markers.  I did take a photo of the colors I used; but my computer ate it or something, because I can't find it anywhere!

That pretty patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-Licious pack.

The layout for my card is last weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I added some sparkle to the snow and various other elements with a Stardust Clear Gellyroll Pen from Sakura.

Today I get to check off one more Christmas card on my to-do list.  Blogging has been so great for helping me finish my Christmas cards. ;)

I love this old-fashioned Santa from Penny Black's Candy Cane Wishes set...so vintage and so yummy.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Nested Frames set from JustRite Stampers.  Those pretty patterned papers are from Crate Paper's new Snow Day pack.  The sketch is this week's sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers.  I haven't participated in one of those in  a while, and I've really missed it.

Today's sample uses the sweet It's Your Day set from Penny Black.  I started with this week's Sketch For You To Try and some yummy Olivia patterned papers from Basic Grey.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  

I made a decision that when I got back to blogging I would do more CAS cards (aka "clean and simple").  I tend to put a bazillion layers and embellishments on my cards (betcha didn't know that, did you?! haha); but I also love the look of a well-executed CAS card.  So, this is the first of many...

Hello Stampers~

Today's sample made me smile from the very moment I began putting it together.  The precious little girls and brightly colored  papers just make me happy. :)

Many of the supplies I used on my card can be found at Stampers Dream.  The adorable image is called Rain or Shine from Penny Black, and the papers are from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite collection.  I love this image SO MUCH!  My favorite part is the umbrella.  Seriously...I WANT that umbrella!

Today's sample is made with Penny Black's adorable Bearing Gifts image.  I picked it up at Stampers Dream, along with the fabulous Sentiments set from Stampavie.  The rich papers are from Pink Paislee's 365 Degrees pad.

Thanks to this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch, my card was super-easy to pull together!  I kept my embellishments to a minimum, allowing the image to really take center stage.

This image completely cracks me up!  That is one happy, fat cat!  It's from the new It's Your Day set from Penny Black.  I picked mine up at Stampers Dream.  The sketch is this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch, shown here:

I went clean and simple for this one.  I airbrushed the background, and colored the image in with about a gazillion Copic markers.  I decided to take a picture of the markers this time, rather than try to list them all.  Here's what I used:

I covered the frosting, ice cream, glass dish, and kitty eyes with Diamond Glaze to give them a nice shine.  The border punch along the bottom of the card is from Martha Stewart.  I first saw the idea to punch the bottom edge of my card over at my friend, Tosh's blog.  That girl is crazy-talented!
